An effective Trustee must be knowledgeable on provincial legislation and regulations pertaining to school boards and the education system. They should understand their role and responsibilities. Trustees do not have individual authority. They should work in collaboration with the entire board always in the best interests of the students, educators, parents and the community. Equality, Diversity and Inclusiveness

Student academic success can not be possible without ensuring the learning environment is a safe, comfortable and accepting place for all.
Racial and cultural diversity are hallmarks of our society. School boards have an obligation to ensure that the appropriate programs and training are available and in place. By teaching tolerance and understanding we can strengthen protections against bullying and intolerance. This also applies to teachers. Everyone should feel safe in their workplace. I will make the above my commitment to you.
